• An upper blepharoplasty lasts about one hour. The surgery onA the lower lid may take up a little more time, precisely two hours. That is why the eye lid surgery is rightly considered a “day surgery”.

  

  A blepharoplasty can be done under local anesthetic with sedation or under general anesthetic.

  Surgery on the upper eyelids generally involves making a cut (incision) along the eyelid crease in the natural skin fold of the eyelid, either just below the lower lashes or on the inside of the eyelid.
